The celebration you never wanted

You didn’t want a funeral, you didn’t want a memorial or celebration, i know you didn’t want others to ask questions and judge you, and you always felt no one cared or would show up to anything for you

Well 20 of your coworkers from all levels of your work not only came together to share wonderful stories about you, but they also really wanted this celebration and encouraged me to have it

Missing tools, safety first, your check ins and instructions, your Luigi, your knowledge, your sharing of life advice, your nicknames “chip”, cutting pallets for someone’s flower boxes, losing your teeth in the pipes, helping with someone’s linked in, and so many other wonderful memories and stories were shared.

They all agreed you were a little “rough around the edges” but everyone knew what a kind caring deep and amazing soul you had

We had milk from the cartons, vanilla timbits, Dino sours (yes your candy dish lives on) and many other of your favorite snacks

We wrapped things up by all grabbing a carrot and going out back to feed the bunnies

I met so many of your wonderful coworkers and friends, the stories that everyone shared touched every last person in the room.

You were an amazing caring and a one of a kind soul. So many people loved you, cared for you, and miss you.

I’m so happy I got to share you and celebrate you with your friends.

And yes Dad, everyone knows it’s you that keeps moving the tools. As organized as you were, everything had a place, moving tools around is quite the joke.

Hope we made you smile
