The Endless Knot
The endless knot symbol has many names. Sometimescalled the infinity knot, auspicious drawing, or knot of eternity, it is one of the oldest symbols dating back thousands of years. The knot can be found in Celtic, Christian, Judaism, Hindu and Chinese history culture and artwork.
While there are many interpretations of the meaning of the endless knot, this symbol carried a very special meaning for my father. My Dad had the endless knot tattooed on him, as well as he painted this symbol on everything he could, including his beloved travel camper.
When I asked my Dad why this symbol meant so much to him, he simply told me this:
“The Endless Knot- don’t worry you don’t die, just your body dies, your soul leaves when it has learned/experienced enough, your soul goes onto the next adventure, or just rests if it wants. What Einstein said about energy- can’t make it and can’t get rid of it”.
In honor of him, please try to remember some life advice he gave me:
“Be kind to others, enjoy and spend time in nature, share the knowledge you’ve learned, tell the stories you’ve experienced, march to the beat of your own drum, everything you can imagine is real, and don’t forget the humor too”
